TEXAS SONG BIRDS

Founded by Philip Adams, with Music Director, Uko Adams. The Texas Song Birds features a blend of traditional Texas Country and Asian music using Guzheng, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Keyboards as well as vocals. 

Philip is a life-long musician learning from his father, Jerry Adams, who played, designed, and built Appalachian instruments such as dulcimers, hammered dulcimers, stum sticks and harps. Philip is a guitarist, mandolinist, blues harpist, pianist and vocalist who performs and records as a solo artist and is a member of several groups including Sleepy Sheep. His musical influences include country and western, bluegrass, blues and southern rock styles. Philip has performed in Virginia, Colorado, and all over the state of Texas.
Uko graduated from the Department of Music Taiwan at Chinese Culture University with majors in Guzheng Master (Guzheng is a 2,500-year-old traditional ancient Chinese instrument), Violin, and Piano; Moores School of Music, University of Houston. Uko is also the owner and lead instructor at Uko Music Studio in Plano Texas. Over the course of her musical career Uko has performed around the world including in Japan, Korea, Taiwan (Taipei National Concert Hall), New Zealand, and across the United States. 

Special Guest performers accompanying concerts include Band and Music School (MengMeng Hung) cellist. Jerry Cassel: Base and percussions and Clay Burr, Guitar.
